[edit] Sea Kayaking

Yorkshire includes part of the east coast of England, including a few surfing beaches, such as Saltburn (handy for Teesside) and Scarborough, although the latter is somewhat beset by Jetskis.

Flamborough Head provides very interesting sea kayaking, with many caves to explore (plastic boats recommended) provided there isn't too much surf. Further north, the areas around Robin Hood's Bay, Whitby, Runswick Bay, Staithes provide some very pleasant day trips, with big cliffs, and lots of fossils in some of the rocks.
