Now in its fifth edition, this is an excellent little book written by a doctor and wilderness enthusiast, William Forgey. Forgey is also a specialist in hypothermia and has written one of the best books on hypothermia.
This book covers wilderness first aid in a pragmatic and sensible way. It has recommendations of what to put into a first aid kit for each of several levels of skill from basic first aid knowledge to a doctor or nurse's kit. It covers most of the common injuries and problems you are likely to come across in the wilderness - cut and breaks, insect and animal bites and so on.
Highly recommended.
