I do a bit of Whitewater kayaking, mainly with Imperial College Canoe Club based in London England (but we normally head out to rivers in North Wales, Yorkshire, Scotland, or the Alps. I also had a stint in a Kanu Club Limmat while I was working in Switzerland

I contributed lots to the old kayakwiki, and set up the Places section a long time ago. Since then it's been ultra spam-proofed and very well tidied up by Mike. Excellent work!

More recently I've been actively involved in OpenStreetMap, and (despite the word "street") I think this will offer some great opportunities for creating open licensed kayaking maps, which could be used on kayakwiki. I've kicked off a mini project to start mapping rivers.
