[edit] Odd Page
This is an odd page. It's kind of a general kayak FAQ but also seems to relate to QajaqUSA (a company?). Need to clarify how it fits in at the top... or change/delete it if it doesn't fit in. -- Harry Wood 07:17, 4 December 2006 (EST)
- Qajaq USA is an organization dedicated to Greenland-style sea kayaking. Their forum on technique and construction is one of the most active on the internet and I'm a regular there (currently fourth most frequent contributor - yeah, I talk too much).
- The members of QajaqUSA were very active in the original KayakWiki when Nick Schade hosted it. In fact, they are probably responsible for most of the content of KayakWiki! At one time, they decided to create a FAQ for Greenland style kayaking and centralize all the info on the site. However, they ran out of steam before much was done. I raised the issue on the QajaqUSA forum last spring (after taking responsibility for the wiki) and suggested they take up the task again. There was some discussion, but not much was done. Some felt that KayakWiki wasn't the right place, preferring the QajaqUSA web site instead. Someone volunteered to look at it, but nothing of substance came of it.
- I've left the page there in hopes that some folks would come along and fill it out. I had considered deleting it or replacing it with something else.
