Sweeper

A Sweeper is a tree that has fallen into the water because the river has eroded the bank supporting it. It remains mostly above water and can catch a paddler.

These are some of the most dangerous parts of a river, as the water continues to flow through, but people get caught, so they have a large ammount of force pushing them into the tree, preventing them from raising their head.
