Stroke

A stroke is the basic method of propelling a kayak through the water. All strokes involve placing the paddle blade in the water, moving it, and then removing the paddle from the water.
The primary stroke used for propelling the boat is the forward stroke. Other strokes, and their variations are listed below. Follow the links to learn the techniques of each stroke.
