Sculling draw

From KayakWiki

Sculling is a stroke in which the paddle slices from side to side. The paddler changes the angle of the paddle on each side-to-side motion to propel the kayak in a direction perpendicular to the arc followed by the paddle.

A sculling draw is used to rather leisurely move a kayak sideways, to raft with another kayak, to retrieve a fishing lure, or to come alongside a dock or quiet beach. Turning till you are parallel to the side of the target boat/dock, your blade is positioned at 45 degrees in the water, then pushed and pulled in a figure of eight motion.
