Reading glasses
From KayakWiki
If you don't need prescription glasses but do need reading glasses for maps and such, there is hope.
- Cheap reading glasses held on with a retainer band can do. Not for whitewater or surf, but these are suitable for some sea kayakers. I've lost glasses this way, so don't think it's a perfect solution.
- Flip-up reading glasses - these are like the flip-up sunglasses, except they provide a magnifying lens. Flip them down to read a map and flip them back up if they're in the way.
- Stick-on magnifier lenses are one of the great innovations. These are plastic lenses that are half-circle shaped and are sticky. They can be stuck onto the bottom of sunglass lenses or single vision glasses (or a dive mask if you're into scuba or snorkeling). Also suitable for some large swim goggles. They are available in numerous strengths. Optx 2020 is one brand - these stay on even when rolling or when the glasses are completely submerged.
