Neoprene

A form of synthetic rubber. It is used to make a thin, flexible foam material used in spray skirts and wetsuits. It is typically black and covered on at least one side with nylon or lycra fabric. It is used as an insulation material on wetsuits and is available in different thicknesses with thicker providing more insulation. Neoprene spray skirts are warm, comfortable and flexible.
