MDF

MDF stands for Medium Density Fiber board. This name is misleading because a 4x8 sheet of this stuff is very heavy. It is used for forms because it it cheap, stable and easy to cut. Some people prefer plywood because it gives the staples more holding power but MDF is fine for all but the most dificult strips.
