I purchased a used polymer Looksha IV used in 2003 and paddled it for 4 months while waiting for my new ACL (advanced carbon layup) version to arrive. I found both to be very stable vessels. I like taking photographs while paddling and often use long lens. The stablility of the hard chine design was appreciated. Both can be turned quickly by edging, yet track smartly and rarely require any rudder.
I find the ACL version to be superior in many ways to the polymer version: weight, speed, cockpit fit, and appearance. But the polymer is nice to have for those situations when you are going to need to drag it over rocks or be bumping up against something.
