Dillon
- General Information
- Dillon is a departure point more than a destination in itself. From Dillon, one can paddle out into Georgian Bay. It is near the north end of Franklin Island and just south of Hertzberg Island and Shawanaga Island.
- Directions
- Take Highway 400 north from Toronto. Continue past Nobel and turn left on Highway 559. Continue on 559 and follow the signs towards Killbear Park. You will come to a T intersection with Highway 559 continuing left - don't turn - go straight. Now you're on Dillon Rd. - continue for about 7km to the end of the road. The put-in is at the very end of the road. Watch out for the single-lane bridge before the end - it can be hard to see a small car approaching from the other side of the bridge.
- Parking
- The parking areas on the road are reserved - the only public pay parking is at the marina. The marina entrance is to the left as you arrive at the harbour.
- Put in
- You can put in from either of two docks or from a launch ramp in between. Since it is set up for motor boaters, try to stay out of the way.
