Devizes to Westminster Race Results

Conditions were nearly perfect for The Devizes to Westminster race over the Easter weekend. The overnight crews all finished on the tide on Sunday morning. In first place were Piran Shelly and Tristram Turner of Richmond CC and Bristol CC in a winning time of 17:03:27. In second place were Richard Hendron and Paul Lanighan of Richmond CC and Falcon CC in a time of 17:21:40. In third place were Daniel Beazley and David Hallam in a time of 18:25:05. Fiona and Mike Vincent from Canada came fourth in a time of 18:37:57. This crew are worthy of a special mention as they came fourth in a canadian Canoe, (that's an open canoe to any North American readers) very well done to them.

In the Ladies race, first place goes to Katherine Burbeck and Gillian Mara of Loughborough University, in a time of 19:55:24. And smashing the long standing Veteran Ladies record, and also coming second in the Ladies event, are Alison Dark and Sharon Colley of Hereford Canoe Club in a time of 20:46:03.
