Center of gravity
From KayakWiki
Often abbreviated CG or occasionally C of G.
The point at which all mass in an object can be considered to be centered. In an object of uniform density, the centre of gravity coincides with the geometric centre of the object.
When dealing with problems in physics, having all the mass appear to be at one point greatly simplifies the modeling and solution of a problem.
Kayaks always rotate about their center of gravity in water.
