Cargo

Cargo is the stuff you bring which does not include standard equipment. When camping, it includes all that is necessary to cook, clean, eat, and sleep.

Humorous photographs of putting cargo in kayaks are common. A LOT can be put in a kayak, but finding it, or getting it out of a far recess in the bow or stern may be difficult.

One of the reasons canoes are more common in the BWCA is the difficulty of putting all the cargo from a kayak into a back pack for a portage.
