Buttocks

The buttock is the breadth of the vessel where the hull rounds down to the stern.
Buttock lines are formed when vertical slices are taken through a boat, parallel to the centerline. Measurements from the table of offsets along buttock lines describe the shape of the bottom of a boat best. In the case of kayaks, they describe the top of the boat as well.
