Bituthene
From KayakWiki
WR Grace Bituthane is a rubber-backed bituminous sealant product manufactured for the foundation coating industry. The bituminous (tar) sealant will stick to a boat hull in wet and cool (but not bitter cold) conditions.
Peel the protective backing and stick the patch to the hull. The hull can be wet, but not dusty. If you are performing a repair on shore, wipe the hull with a damp cloth to make sure it is clean. In colder conditions, warm the hull near a campfire or with body heat to make the Bituthene stick more tenaciously.
It can be cleaned with mineral spirits back home and a permanent hull repair can be made.
